How outsourcing transformed consistency, efficiency, and staff support
Having in-house cleaning staff may seem like the simplest solution, but when sickness and holidays leave gaps in the schedule, it can create serious challenges. That’s exactly what happened at this leisure facility. Looking for a more reliable and efficient solution, the management team turned to Vivo Clean.
The leisure facility had directly employed cleaning staff, but this had left them in a difficult situation at times. Sickness and holidays had become challenging, since it left them without a cleaner, and the busy management team didn’t always have time to find an alternative.
Having cleaning staff on their payroll also meant that they were responsible for all recruitment and HR support, and with the staff in place becoming unreliable, it was not practical to continue. It was time to outsource to ensure everyone had the support they needed.
We took on the contract and assumed responsibility for the cleaning at the facility, bringing our drive for excellence in everything we do to the work. Some of the existing cleaning staff continued working at the facility by transferring over to Vivo Clean (with the TUPE process dealt with from start to finish by us).
Through effective management, we were able to improve standards and ensure that these staff had all the support they needed to meet expectations. We also brought in one of our own team members to support them, helping them to all pull together as a group to get the job done to the highest standard.
The contract is now fully supported with a team of mobile cleaners and supervisors. They work together to make sure that cleanliness levels are maintained for those using the leisure facility, and also ensure that sickness and holiday are always covered.
With no more issues around cleanliness and hygiene, and no need to panic when someone falls ill, the team managing the centre are able to focus on what they do best, safe in the knowledge that Team Vivo have it covered.
