How we transformed hygiene levels by equipping and empowering staff
When a Suffolk-based haulage company noticed that their cleaning standards were slipping, they didn’t blame the cleaning staff. They noticed that a lack of training and poor management from their existing contractor was the real issue, and turned to Vivo Clean to help.
The client felt that their existing cleaning contractor’s standards were poor, and cleanliness levels were slipping. It seemed apparent to them that the cleaning team were not properly equipped for the job, and hadn’t been trained to do what they needed to.
Their belief was that the contractor was not delivering effective or regular training to keep skills up to scratch, and they empathised with the staff rather than blaming them.
When we got involved, we immediately addressed two things: cleanliness, and staff training. We provided several hours of additional cleaning at no extra expense to the client, to bring the overall hygiene of their premises up to scratch and provide a new baseline.
We also delivered several further hours, at no extra charge, for in-depth training for the cleaning team, to bring them up to date and ensure they felt confident and comfortable in their roles.
Old equipment from the previous contractor was replaced with the latest models, and as the partnership progressed we made sure to provide consistent out of hours support for the staff, along with regular visits from our supervisors and management team to ensure everything was progressing as it should.
Quality is one of the values that drives our work, and with solid training, up to date equipment and proper support, the partnership was set up for success. Staff were finally able to do a proper job of their tasks, and worked to high cleaning standards that kept everything working effectively at the company’s premises.
The team there now has a strong line of communication with us, allowing us to make sure that the quality of work is maintained at a high level as standard. Another happy client, which makes us very happy too!
